DB-ALU3e-6G eSATA/USB firmware update

    DB-ALU3e-6G eSATA/USB firmware update

    Google Übersetzung unten.

I noticed that my DB-ALU3e-6G is not able to read a disk partitioned in eSATA mode when connected using USB, which pretty much defeats the purpose of having two interfaces on the enclosure. Looking for a solution I found this thread. Do I understand correctly that the firmware on this page can fix this problem?

The ZIP file containing the firmware update also contains a "WICHTIG! - IMPORTANT!.txt" file, which mentions:

This update is only for devices up to serial number "11215xxxxxxxx" needed newer devices do not need this firmware!

How do I check the serial number of my DB-ALU3e-6G? What is "newer"? A number larger than 1121599999999?

This is what the firmware tool shows right after starting it:

Also please update the firmware ZIP with clear instructions.

    Thanks!

Was ist "neueren"?

    Danke,

the Serialnumber stands on the packaging and circuit board and the scheme is like "1 followed by calendar week (12) and year (15) + xxxxxxxxx". So a device which doesn't need the update starts with 11315xxxxxxxxxx.

Due to the fact that we are now in CW12 every device on the market needs this update. ;)

I think the zip includes more like clear instructions. 8o Please follow the manual step by step!

    Best regards,

    Thank you Lars.

I have now updated the firmware, and my disk is now also readable when connected via USB.

Yes, the manual is clear. I was referring to "WICHTIG! - IMPORTANT!.txt". It should contain the following information:

This information should be in the "WICHTIG! - IMPORTANT!.txt" file. Without it, people can't determine whether their firmware is older or newer.

It is also confusing that the "FW version" goes from 140509a15401 to 130926a10000, which seems like it decreases. But appareantly, that is not a problem.

    Best regards,
